Chronic Guru’s mission is to enhance lives and foster a sense of community through the transformative power of cannabis. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Amsterdam coffee shops and the exclusivity of speakeasies, they strive to create a blend of luxury and accessibility. As third-generation cannabis growers, they are dedicated to quality and innovation, providing relief to the masses at an accessible price point and creating a high-end yet inviting dispensary line.
Chronic Guru’s History:
Patrick O’Brien is by no means just an ordinary cannabis enthusiast. This third-generation cannabis grower and American veteran has trained over 60,000 students at his five-acre indoor/outdoor cannabis college and farm in Apopka, Florida (Sativa University). Now, has now opened his line of accessible cannabis dispensaries, known as Chronic Guru.
Patrick & his wife started Learn Sativa University, a school to teach students how to start a career in the cannabis industry in Pine Hills, Florida back in 2017.

Word spread quickly about what Patrick was teaching and the results he was providing his students. This led to LSU quickly becoming the #1 spot in the world to network and learn more about cannabis.

The school became so popular that during the pandemic of 2020, Patrick and his wife acquired an abandoned, 50 year old, 5 acre farm in Apopka, Florida and decided to begin building the worlds first hands-on cannabis training facility.
Thanks to the students, hundreds of helping hands, and the guidance of Patrick – The training facility started taking shape…

It seemed like everyone was willing to give a hand where they could – even Patrick’s mother – while battling stage 4 breast cancer, Kelly – Rest In Peace, Mom.

Students from all of the world (places like Brazil, Puerto Rico, Columbia, even India) began showing up and learning along side Patrick.

It was crazy, at a time when the world seemed to be on fire, the students and the community we were building was & still is stronger then ever.

After a while, the students began asking Patrick when he would begin opening his own line of dispensaries – as they were tired of the “sterile-like” treatment they were receiving from most of the MMTC’s.
And that’s when these guy’s showed up. Students by the name of Erdem & Ata spoke to Patrick about funding his first line of dispensaries, now known as “Chronic Guru”

Alongside Pat, Longtime friend & student, David began to turn Patrick’s vision into reality when it came to the construction of Chronic Guru Dispensaries.

Of course, let’s not forget about Allyson. None of this would have been made possible without the infamous Allyson – someone had to keep Patrick in check.

After month’s of battling with the city to open the first dispensary on mainstreet in downtown Sanford, Florida – Patrick & Erdem finally got to cut the ribbon.

Patrick dedicates the majority of Chronic Guru’s profits to challenging big corporations and government entities at both state and federal levels, striving to make high-quality cannabis truly accessible to those who need it most.
In doing so, Patrick and Chronic Guru have garnered the loyalty of over 900,000 customers to date. This movement is about more than just getting high—it’s about driving real change for those in need and delivering the highest-quality cannabis products available.
And this is only the beginning.
